Linda Shell is the accountant for The Janitorial Agency Services Corp. Her job in the office includes accounting, data entry and reviewing TJASC’s contracts. She said, “My services include working with the credit card companies on certain days, and when it comes time to accept the entrepreneur’s investment, that’s where my skills are utilized. I am behind the scenes in the office, and I like that. There’s always something new for me to do and get better at.”
Several things keep Linda’s interest at The Janitorial Agency. She says, “There’s always something going on at TJASC. I really enjoy the variety I get day-to-day in the office. My services in the office require a great deal of patience and persistence, but the routine is rewarding because I know I’m making a difference at The Janitorial Agency.”
When asked if there was a learning curve when she took on her role at The Janitorial Agency, Linda said, “Sure. I have a degree in computers with a minor in accounting services. I understand the nature of the commercial cleaning industry, but learning a new piece of software in the office is a lot like an experience with a stranger. You’re required to make adjustments in your expectations of yourself and the office’s software. The main computer program I’m working with at The Janitorial Agency is different from anything else I’ve ever worked with. In fact, I’m still finding ways of doing my job better!”
Linda is a firm believer in The Janitorial Agency’s one-of-a-kind business model. She says, “We help people acquire necessary training coupled with marketing. When asked what challenges she faces in the office, Linda had to think before saying, “I suppose that since we’re learning so much every day, keeping up with the inevitable changes in the commercial cleaning industry is a challenge. Also, the office workload can be heavy some days.”
When asked to predict The Janitorial Agency’s future in the next year, Linda predicted that TJASC will be the proud overseers of at least one Master Franchise in the U. S. or Canada. The first Master Franchise will be like the first person who broke the four minute mile in the Olympics. Most people said it could never be done until it happened. Then it became the norm. Linda said, “Once we set up our first Master Franchise, we will start to experience some serious headway.”
In her free-time Linda enjoys camping in her trailer with her dog Zoey and family. She enjoys living out in the country on 10 acres of land and said, “If I weren’t working, I’d travel for a while. But I’d like to stay around home because family is very important, and I need to experience that connection to remain happy.”
